AMD has revised the memory specifications for its STX processor line, enhancing support for faster LPDDR5X speeds. This was first spotted by the industry insider Hoang Anh Phu (@AnhPhuH) on Twitter. According to Phu’s tweet, the STX processors were limited to 4×2R DDR5-5600 and LPDDR5X-7500. With this update, the memory configuration shifts to 2×2R for DDR5-5600 and LPDDR5X-8000. This change, from 4×2R to 2×2R, suggests AMD is optimizing memory module configuration for faster speeds, which could improve efficiency and performance for devices that use LPDDR5X memory.
