Star Wars Battlefront III Not in Development – Rumor

Star Wars Battlefront III

Star Wars Day will be held on May 4 and some fans of the series are hoping that there will be news related to a new title. One of the most likely for fans is Star Wars Battlefront III. But there seems to be bad news, as it looks like there are no plans for a ‘Battlefront III’.

The information comes from the Bespin Bulletin who has heard from sources that the team working on Star Wars Battlefront II will focus on the development of the new Battlefield and that there are no plans for Star Wars Battlefront III. Furthermore, it is noted that the agreement between Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm would end in 2023, which, in conjunction with the above reasons, does not lead to a new installment of Star Wars Battlefront.

However, Bespin Bulletin reports that the distributor will launch 2 more Star Wars games, one is the sequel to Fallen Order, which would arrive in 2022, and another is Project Maverick, a title that supposedly would be based on ships and combat that would arrive in 2021 from EA Motive.

On the other hand, it is important to mention that given the good result that the latest Star Wars titles produced by Electronic Arts have generated, it is very likely that Lucasfilm will extend the license to the distributor. That said, in the event that a new installment is planned, it would not arrive until several years later.

We remind you that Star Wars Battlefront II will keep its online game active even though you will no longer receive new content. This means that it will be possible to play the title online.

Star Wars Battlefront II is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Were you expecting the return of Star Wars Battlefront III? What title of this franchise would you like to play? Tell us in the comments below.
