Far Cry 4 Update 1.08 Boosts PS5 to 60 FPS, Fixes Framerate and Stability

Far Cry 4

Ubisoft has released Far Cry 4 update 1.08, enabling native 60 FPS support on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro, as announced on April 29, 2025. The patch, available now for PS4, PS5, and Xbox, enhances the 2014 open-world shooter set in Kyrat, delivering a smoother experience.

The update brings a smoother frame rate, improving gameplay in the Himalayan nation of Kyrat, where players battle the tyrannical Pagan Min. It also includes minor bug fixes and optimized visuals for PS5’s capabilities. The patch applies to both digital and physical copies of the game.

Patch Details:

  • 60 FPS Support: Unlocks 60 frames-per-second on PS5 and PS5 Pro, aligning with Xbox Series X’s performance since 2021 via FPS Boost.
  • Framerate Fixes: Addresses framerate drops during intense gameplay, ensuring consistent performance.
  • Freezing Issues: Resolves occasional freezing problems, improving overall stability.
  • Performance Enhancements: Includes general optimizations for smoother gameplay and faster load times on next-gen hardware.

The update follows Ubisoft’s trend of enhancing older titles like Far Cry 5 and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate for PS5. Fans have welcomed the 60 FPS boost, though some request similar updates for Far Cry 3 or Assassin’s Creed Unity. No resolution upgrades (still 1440p on PS5) or additional content were noted. You can now download the patch via your console’s update menu.
