Despite numerous delays and development problems, Atomic Heart has been steadily building hype for its February release date. As such, gamers are eagerly awaiting the bombastic first-person shooter from developer Mundfish.
While we haven’t seen a huge amount of gameplay, we’ve been able to get a feel for the futuristic world and its various combat elements through trailers. Now, YouTuber Garythelians has shared the first 5-hour of gameplay video of the Atomic Heart which reveals a lot about what fans can expect from the upcoming title.
The game takes place in a Soviet Union that’s been left with a lingering “mistake.” It’s an alternate history where technology has evolved and the internet and holograms exist, while Communism, imperialism, and conflicts with Western countries continue to plague the region.
It’s a pretty interesting take on the genre, and one that we’re sure gamers will be chomping at the bit to play once it’s released. The trailer we saw this past August was a great showcase of the type of damage you can dish out.
Now that we’ve got a good look at the game’s combat, we can’t wait to see what it’s like for players when they finally get their hands on Atomic Heart.
The game’s graphics look far improved in this leak, compared to the previous build that was shown off in its early 2019 trailers. It also looks to have a much smoother experience than previously, which is a positive sign that the team has put the necessary work into the game to deliver an enjoyable experience for its audience.
Atomic Heart is now available for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
