Borderlands 3: Steam Preload Time, Using CrossPlay on PC, Import Save Data Detailed

Borderlands 3

There are only a few days left before Steam users can finally play Borderlands 3. To prepare them for the launch, Gearbox has announced the preload time today when the game will be available to start downloading it, as well as other details to take full advantage of the save data between Epic Games Store and Steam.

Today it was announced that from the afternoon of Tuesday, March 10, Borderlands 3 will be available to all users who preorder it, so that players can download the 75 GB data of the game and not have to wait any longer when it is available, on March 13 at 7 am PT/10 am ET/3 pm GMT, time until when you can play.

HOW TO USE CROSS-PLAY ON PC?

When you first run the title on Steam, a window will appear asking if you want to activate the cross-game; in the case of Epic Games Store, it will be necessary to update the game version and enable the option in the same way as in Steam. This can be changed later through the game options.

Subsequently, you will have to write a name to call you in games with users of another platform that is unique and complies with the rules. Something that is important to say is that cross-play on PC will only be possible between Steam and Epic Games Store and not between these platforms and consoles.

HOW WILL SAVE DATA BETWEEN STEAM AND EPIC GAMES STORE WORK WITH BORDERLANDS 3?

Something that can be done is to import the saved files from the Epic Games Store to Steam if you already bought the game there, but you must take into account that it will not be possible to play in this way the add-ons (DLC) purchased in the Valve store only with save files, but it will be necessary to buy the game on the same platform where the game is purchased.

In the case of achievements, if a save file is transferred from Epic Games Store to Steam, it is not guaranteed that achievements already made will be unlocked. But it will always be possible to unlock them again if the requirements are met again.

It is also expected that in the future an option will be enabled to exchange files through in-game mail between Steam players and Epic Games Store.

Borderlands 3 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Are you ready to play Borderlands 3 on Steam? Will you take advantage of the cross-game? Tell us in the comments below.
