The GeForce Now app for macOS is getting a major update, bringing support for Apple’s M1 chips and silicon. M1-based MacBooks, iMacs, and Mac Minis are now supported natively. The app 2.0.40 update is available through Nvidia’s website. With this addition, GeForce Now for macOS can now run Amazon’s Lost Ark game. The game was not published with official macOS support but is available to play for free.
The update to the GeForce NOW app adds Mac-specific features, such as a new Style row to sort your game library. There’s also a new streaming statistics overlay, including FPS data from the server, which is helpful for determining why some games aren’t running as expected.
The service also added 14 new games to its library, including the action role-playing game Dunes: Spice Wars. GeForce NOW members can now stream the following new games added to the service.
- Dune: Spice Wars
- Prehistoric Kingdom
- Romans: Age of Caesar
- Sea of Craft
- Trigon: Space Story
- Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt
- Conan Exiles
- Flashing Lights – Police, Firefighting, Emergency Services Simulator
- Galactic Civilizations II: Ultimate Edition
- Jupiter Hell
- Lost Ark
- SOL CRESTA
GeForce NOW RTX 3080 memberships are now available as digital gift cards with two-, three- and six-month options. GeForce NOW membership gift cards can be used to redeem an RTX 3080 membership or a Priority membership, depending on the recipient’s preference, so you can’t go wrong.
Also, members can receive the “Heroic Edition” of ArenaNet’s critically acclaimed free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game Guild Wars 2. The Guild Wars 2 “Heroic Edition” comes with a full treasure trove of goodies, including the Suit of Legacy Armor, an 18-slot inventory expansion and four heroic Boosters.
While the GeForce Now the app has been available for web browsers for several months, this new update 2.0.40 brings the service natively to the Mac platform.
The new version will support the Apple M1 chip and improve the app’s performance and power consumption. The new version will also add server-side rendering frame rates to the Streaming Statistics Overlay, which will make it easier to find new games.
