The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti looks all set to be the next major launch in the mid-range gaming GPU market, with a 16GB and an 8GB VRAM option. As per fresh reports, NVIDIA will launch the 16GB version in March and then the 8GB model of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti in April. The report also reveals that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti will require 180W of power supply, making it 20W more powerful than the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB and 15W more powerful than the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB.
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti: Memory, Bandwidth, and Power Details
The RTX 5060 Ti will be based on the PG152 board and will come with the GB206 GPU core.
Two models will be available:
- RTX 5060 Ti 16GB – “SKU 10”
- RTX 5060 Ti 8GB – “SKU 15”
Both GPUs retain a 128-bit memory bus, like the RTX 4060 Ti, but add a GDDR7 memory interface. This brings support for up to 28 Gbps memory speeds, which provides a 55% boost in bandwidth over its earlier successor, at 448 GB/s. NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture memory compression will further improve performance despite the smaller bus.
NSGs higher power draw, flexible power connectors
Both models will feature a 180W Total Board Power (TBP), which will make them:
- 20W more powerful than the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB
- 15W more powerful than the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB
The RTX 5060 Ti series will feature both 8-pin and 12V-2×6 power connectors, providing manufacturers with design flexibility.
Launch Timeline and Competition
- RTX 5060 Ti 16GB – Anticipated release in second half of March 2025
- RTX 5060 Ti 8GB – Anticipated release in first half of April 2025
The RTX 5060 Ti line was originally intended for a prior release, but supply chain bottlenecks compelled NVIDIA to realign its schedule. Pricing is yet to be confirmed, but should be around the same as the RTX 4060 Ti line ($400-$500 US).
The 5060 Ti series will face competition from AMD’s soon-to-be-released RDNA 4-based RX 9000 GPUs, the RX 9060 series, and things look set to be thrilling mid-range GPU showdown in 2025.
