Resident Evil 3 Remake Omits “Live Selection” of Two Choices Made in the Original, Capcom Confirms

Resident Evil 3 Remake

As with the Resident Evil 2 remake, Capcom decided that it is an opportunity to make changes and adjustments to the original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis proposal and this means that some elements we saw a little over 20 years ago may or may not be present in the final product. In that sense, the recent revelation of gameplay has confirmed that a feature that appeared in the 1999 installment will not be present in the remake.

A few weeks before the debut of Resident Evil 3 Remake, and in the middle of the revelation of new material with playability, some fans wondered what would happen to that option of Live Selection that allowed to decide between 2 choices during a situation of extreme danger. Well, taking advantage of the occasion, Peter Fabiano, producer of Resident Evil 3 Remake reported that this feature will not be available in the new installment.

According to the words that Fabiano provided to GameSpot, the reason for the change is due to a creative need that led the team to work on a consistent story development that responds to the events that take place in the Raccoon City zombie nightmare.

In that sense, the Producer stated the following in the interview: “With this new version, the director wants to tell a coherent story with Jill; how she and Carlos beat Nemesis and finally escaped from Raccoon City. We just want to maintain consistency, so that it has a unique and more consistent narrative at all times. “With this [remake], the director wanted to tell a consistent story with Jill, and how she and Carlos overcome Nemesis and eventually escape Raccoon City. We just wanted to keep it cohesive, so that you’ll have a singular, more consistent narrative throughout.”

Resident Evil 3 Remake will release on April 3 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Recently, screenshots of new enemies in this remake were leaked on the web, you can check it out at this link.
