Will Cyberpunk 2077 Release on PS5? CDPR Leaves Decision To Sony

Cyberpunk 2077

In the month of February 2020, CD Projekt RED announced that those who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox One would receive the appropriate graphics enhancements and tweaks once Xbox Series X arrived at no cost. The revelation not only ignited the hype of the players, but left them waiting for similar information regarding the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, however, so far there is no confirmation about it and the game division of the Polish company explained by what there is but nothing than silence.

As part of the document in which it revealed details about the plans for the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED dedicated a space to the debut of the game on next-generation consoles, that is, PS5 and Xbox Series X. In that sense, the division of the Polish company noted that they can not announce anything regarding the Sony console because the Japanese company has not revealed its policies on cross-gen, which means the shared gaming environment between PS4 and PS5 that will mark the transition from hardware to other.

In that sense, CD Projekt RED shared the following: “There’s no official announcement coming from PlayStation so we really can’t confirm or deny anything. It’s PlayStation that first needs to address these issues and then we’re happy to make a comment, but we can’t jump the gun ahead of them.”

Later, in the case of Xbox Series X, the document confirms what was revealed a couple of months ago, so the patch that will improve the experience for all those who buy Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox One will be guaranteed and will be free since CD Projekt RED already are aware of and agree to Xbox’s policies on the matter.

Finally, the division emphasized that the lack of an announcement about Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 does not depend on them, but on Sony and as soon as there is clarity regarding what will happen in terms of cross-gen, they will be able to talk about it.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release on September 17 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
