New Silent Hill & Fatal Frame Movies Announced

Silent Hill

Rumors have been circulating for several days indicating that Silent Hill could return and Konami’s statements make it clear that they want to release something. While it seems that we will have to wait to see the series back in video games, it was recently confirmed that there are already plans for us to see Silent Hill back on the big screen. In addition, there is also the project of bringing Fatal Frame, another legendary horror video game franchise, to the world of cinema.

In a recent interview with Allocine, one of the most important film media in France, Christophe Gans, director of Silent Hill (2006) revealed that he is working on a Project Zero movie, a franchise best known in the West as Fatal Frame. This project will be done hand in hand with Victor Hadida, who was the producer of the Silent Hill movie.

“I have two horror film projects with Victor Hadida. I am working on the adaptation of the video game Project Zero (Fatal Frame) The film will take place in Japan. I especially don’t want to uproot the game from its Japanese haunted house setting,” said the director.

If the first project is the film adaptation of Fatal Frame, what is the second? As you can guess from what we mentioned before, it is a new Silent Hill movie.

“And we’re also working on a new Silent Hill. The project will always be anchored in this atmosphere of a small American town, ravaged by Puritanism. I think it’s time to make a new one,” he said.

It should be mentioned that Gans did not give more details about it, so we do not know who are the producers involved with these projects. Nor do we know what stage of development they are in. With this in mind, it is possible that it is barely in plans. We will inform you when we know more about it.
