PlayStation Network users in the UK are reporting issues with accessing services. However, everything is under control for the moment in other parts of the country.
According to some reports in these hours, users in the United Kingdom are reporting problems in accessing the PlayStation Network from 12 noon onwards, which returns an error. It is also specified that those already in the service are not expelled, with the defect that it would be affecting only those who try to enter from the appearance of the error onwards.
Currently, the official status of PlayStation Network does not report these problems and there are no malfunctions for users in other countries. However, the DownDetector website is being flooded with reports from British players: we will, therefore, see if the problem will remain localized and will be resolved as soon as possible, or if there will be trips in the same area in the next few hours.
We remind you that PlayStation Network is facing weeks of the particular full house from users due to the COVID-19 emergency, with Sony forced to remodel the band of its service in order not to clog the network and allow as many people as possible to enjoy it. Indeed, Sony has announced that it will lower the download speed on PS4 to help the European network to stay stable.
“We believe it is important to do our part to address Internet stability concerns as an unprecedented number of people are practicing social distancing and are becoming more reliant on Internet access,” Sony addressed in its official note. “Players may experience somewhat slower or delayed game downloads but will still enjoy robust gameplay. We appreciate the support and understanding from our community, and their doing their part, as we take these measures in an effort to preserve access for everyone.”
PlayStation Network allows you to access online services of PlayStation consoles, such as purchasing and downloading products from the PlayStation Store. The associated profile also allows you to watch streaming content and listen to music.
