In a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday, the New England Patriots star said he is done playing football, and that his decision is final.

NFL players, coaches and fans took to social media to congratulate the four-time Super Bowl champion. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared a photo of his teammate’s video with three GOAT emojis, while the Mayor of Tampa also gave a shout-out.

During his 23-year career in the NFL, Brady became a household name and a household name alone. He was a two-time NFL MVP, earned 15 Pro Bowl appearances and led 46 fourth-quarter comebacks. He is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history and will be voted into the Hall of Fame when he is eligible.

He spent the first two decades of his NFL career with the New England Patriots, where he compiled a dynasty that won six Super Bowl titles and reached the AFC championship game 13 times. He left New England to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, and immediately reclaimed his place as the GOAT by winning a seventh Super Bowl title.

He has a lot to be proud of, and even though he has a down season in 2022, he’ll always be the best quarterback in NFL history. His accomplishments are a testament to the fact that the game of football is so much more than just winning games.
