Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader Heading to Nintendo Switch 2

Warhammer 40,000

The popular role-playing game Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, made by Owlcat Games, is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. This will be the first time an Owlcat title comes to a Nintendo console, letting players explore its huge world on the go.

The game first came out in December 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and personal computers. It follows a special explorer called a Rogue Trader who leads a team across distant stars. You make big choices that change the story, like showing kindness or being harsh to your crew, or teaming up with allies or foes.

These decisions affect whole planets and the people in them. The adventure lasts over 100 hours, with turn-based battles where you plan moves to beat enemies using weapons, skills, and helper characters like warriors or strange mind powers.

Owlcat shared the news during the IGN Fall Fan Fest with a new video trailer. It shows the game running on the Switch 2, with smooth action and detailed worlds full of dark future settings. No exact launch date was given, but it’s expected soon after the console arrives. The team has fixed bugs and added new story parts since launch, and it has received strong praise from players for its writing and depth.

This version will be digital on the Nintendo eShop. If you like games with rich tales and smart fights in a grim galaxy, this portable take on Rogue Trader could be a great fit for handheld play. Keep an eye on Owlcat’s site for more updates as the Switch 2 nears its own big reveal.
