There’s a lot of talk about the new folding smartphone of Samsung, the Korean manufacturer’s second flexible panel product, and what should its name be, none other than Galaxy Z Flip. The smartphone will be revealed on February 11 in San Francisco, along with the new Galaxy S range, which will include the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra models.
A few days ago a blurred photo of the new foldable smartphone had leaked and the news that the device would be called Galaxy Bloom.
Bloom is just a code name, the real name is Galaxy Z xxxx, guess it! pic.twitter.com/55mGBp4v0A

The smartphone will not be the exact direct successor to the Galaxy Fold, that would have already sold about 400,000 units worldwide, but will have a completely different form factor because the new model will bow in length instead of width. In this way, the user will have an elongated display.
Today, however, it emerges that Galaxy Bloom will not be the name of Samsung’s new foldable smartphone. It would in fact be a codename, one of those that is attributed to all the models being developed. Just like the Galaxy S20 has been given the Hubble codename.
Its name could instead be Galaxy Z Flip, as reported by a tweet from the well-known Twitter channel Ice Universe this morning.

Many responded to the Ice Universe tweet. Someone approves the name, Galaxy Z Flip emphasizing how the term flip is perfect for a smartphone that closes and opens like a shell. Someone else replies: “Why not Galaxy V, since it folds in half?”
As always we will know more in the coming days, approaching the release date of the smartphone.
