A Plague Tale Requiem Performance Mode is Live Now

A Plague Tale Requiem

Focus Entertainment and developer Asobo Studio have released a new update for A Plague Tale Requiem, adding a 60 frames per second Performance Mode to consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) as well as PC. The mode prioritizes frame rate over graphical resolution, making it possible to play the game at 60 frames per second instead of 30fps. The update also includes some bug fixes.

While it was a bit disappointing to see the stealth-heavy title capped at 30fps on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC, at launch, Digital Foundry praised A Plague Tale Requiem for its “strong sense of history and narrative direction” along with its “intense stealth gameplay.” The sequel to 2019’s A Plague Tale Innocence takes players on a journey through a dangerous medieval world that has been turned into a rat-infested nightmare.

The new update for A Plague Tale Requiem is live now on all platforms, introducing the Performance Mode. Console users can choose between the default Resolution Mode settings to experience graphical excellence or the more demanding Performance Mode that scales down the graphics resolution but enhances gameplay sequences with smoother action at 60fps. On PC, the new patch adds some additional options to optimize the game for a range of different hardware configurations.
