Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle & Grim Fandango Remasters Coming To Xbox One Later This Year

Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle & Grim Fandango

Double Fine Productions had announced at E3 2019 that it was joining Xbox Game Studios, but we have always wondered how long it would take for the studio of Tim Schafer to announce Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, and Full Throttle remasters coming on Xbox?

Coincidentally, the only three adventures created by Double Fine that had not reached the Microsoft console were already released on Steam, PS4, and PS Vita, with the addition of Nintendo Switch for the case of Grim Fandango in 2018.

However, today the CEO Tim Schafer confirmed to IGN that on the occasion of 25 years of Full Throttle all the three flagship game remasters will arrive on Xbox:

  1. Grim Fandango Remaster
  2. Full Throttle Remaster
  3. Day of the Tentacle Remaster

These three remastered versions were already released each on all the above-mentioned platforms a few years ago, so it was quite normal that the remasters will also end up coming to Xbox One, now that the company is part of the Xbox Games Studios.

It is worth mentioning that neither Double Fine nor Xbox Game Studios have announced anything about it, however, Tim Schafer’s company belongs to the new wave of teams that joined the Microsoft games division to strengthen its first-party lineup, so it wouldn’t be strange if these legendary graphic adventures hit Xbox One and are also available for Xbox Series X.

In recent news, it was rumored that the former Naughty Dog developer joined Double Fine for an unannounced AAA-game for Xbox Series X. On the other hand, Xbox Game Studios are reportedly working on 20 games, you can check the complete list here.
