As you all know very well, from today Mafia II: Definitive Edition is also available for download via the PS Store on PS4, as part of the Mafia Trilogy.
Now, you can download Mafia II: Definitive Edition absolutely for free (and in English), by accessing through the Malaysian PlayStation Store. In order to start the download, you will need to create an account from scratch for that specific region.
If you want, the product page can be easily reached at this link.
The official description reads:
Remastered in HD, live the life of a gangster during the Golden-era of organized crime. War hero Vito Scaletta becomes entangled with the mob in hopes of paying his father’s debts. Alongside his buddy Joe, Vito works to prove himself, climbing the family ladder with crimes of larger reward, status and consequence.
The releases are not entirely unexpected, because earlier today a leaked version of the remastered Mafia 2: Definitive Edition was available for download via the Australian PlayStation Store. The Definitive Version of Mafia 2 is a typical remaster and includes support for 4K resolutions as well as all DLC, including Clothing and Vehicle Packs.
Also, if you already own either game on Steam, you get its Definitive Version completely free. On the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, this is only the case for Mafia 3. Separately, the new games cost $30 each. Mafia 2: Definitive Edition is available today for a fee or as a free update on Steam for owners of the basic version.
Meanwhile, Mafia Definitive Edition will be a real remake of the original game (and not a simple remastered version), and it will instead be available from August 28.
