Phasmophobia’s highly anticipated PlayStation VR2 release is set to launch in early access on October 29, 2024, bringing a host of immersive VR features to amplify the eerie experience. Now, before its official launch developer Kinetic Games has detailed Phasmophobia’s PS VR2 features.
The game’s PS VR2 support emphasizes realism with detailed graphics, refined soundscapes, and an intentionally minimal interface to keep players on edge. With 2000 x 2040 pixels per eye and up to 120Hz reprojection, the VR experience promises both smoothness and clarity. PS VR2 users will experience enhanced haptic feedback, making environmental elements, like ghostly movements and atmospheric shifts, feel more tangible.
In this cooperative horror game, players investigate haunted locations with a range of ghost-hunting tools, including EMF readers, spirit boxes, and night-vision cameras. Over 20 ghost types with unique behaviors and abilities add variability, while custom difficulty settings allow players to adjust gameplay to match their preferred level of challenge. Cross-platform play is also supported, so PS VR2 players can collaborate with friends across different consoles and PCs for shared investigations.
This release aligns with Phasmophobia’s broader console expansion, meeting a significant demand from its community and providing a fresh, immersive layer for horror fans on PS VR2.
