PSVR 2 Launch Set for February 22, 2023 for $549

The PSVR 2 is a virtual reality headset that will surely enable players to immerse themselves in a virtual reality environment. Today Sony officially announced that PSVR 2 will officially launch on February 22, 2023, and will cost $549 when it launches. Pre-orders will begin later this month on November 15. The headset will be bundled with two PS VR2 Sense controllers. The PlayStation VR2 will be available through PlayStation Direct, but retailers will also start stocking it soon. Notably, the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller charging station, designed specifically for the PS VR2 Sense controller will also launch the same day.

Players in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg will initially be able to pre-order PlayStation VR2 solely through PlayStation’s online store at direct.playstation.com. In other markets, PlayStation VR2 will be sold at participating retailers.

While the launch date is still a little shaky, the company has stated that it will launch the PlayStation VR2 as early as Q1 2023. Historically, the company has launched major PlayStation hardware in Q3 or Q4, although it launched the first PSVR headset in Q4. Because it does not want to compete with other consumer electronics makers on price, Sony is keeping the PSVR2’s release date as early as possible.

Sony has announced 11 new PSVR 2 titles that will be available for the PS VR2 when it launches. The lineup includes a diverse selection of games, including Crossfire: Sierra Squad, Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue, and Jurassic World: Aftermath Collection. It will also launch with the first anniversary of Gran Turismo 7 and the first game for PS VR, Horizon: Call of the Mountain.

11 New VR Titles Coming to PSVR2

Sony has announced 11 new VR titles that will be available for the PS VR2 when it launches. These new PSVR2 games include the following games.

  2. Crossfire: Sierra Squad
  3. The Light Brigade
  4. Cities VR – Enhanced Edition
  5. Cosmonious High
  6. Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue
  7. Jurassic World Aftermath Collection
  8. Pistol Whip VR
  9. Zenith: The Last City
  10. After The Fall
  11. Tentacular

While PSVR2 will be more expensive than its predecessor, it will feature improved VR technology and be compatible with the PlayStation 5. The PlayStation VR2 is set to launch on February 22 2023 for $549.
