Resident Evil 4 Remake Is In Development At M-Two; Will Release in 2022 – Rumor

Resident Evil 4 Remake

The current remakes launched by Capcom have yielded good results for the company. First was the reimagination of Resident Evil 2 Remake, which was so well received that it even won a nomination at The Game Awards 2019; right after that it was Resident Evil 3 Remake, this was controversial and divided the opinions of the public a lot. But today, it was the turn of Resident Evil 4 Remake which was rumored to be in development from M-Two studio.

Today, out of the blue, VGC (Video Game Chronicles), stated that Capcom is in the early stages of developing Resident Evil 4 Remake based on several sources. The production of the game would be in full swing and being produced by M-Two (the studio that worked on RE3 Remake composed by former developers of Platinum Games and Capcom), and the title is expected to arrive as early as 2022.

RE3 Remake has some references to the original RE4, such as the parasitic zombies created by Nemesis and some situations where QTE’s (Quick Time Event) are needed. Was Capcom already setting the stage with these additions? It is also worth mentioning that, according to the website’s sources, a newcomer to the company would be leading the new project.

It is also reported that Shinji Mikami, considered by many to be the father of the franchise, was also asked to work on the project, and although he had to decline the invitation because he was working on GhostWire: Tokyo (Bethesda’s new IP), the producer would be making some guesses outside.

Remembering that Resident Evil 8 is expected to be released next year according to Dusk Golem, an insider well known by the franchise community. The above revelations are only rumors and should be treated as such. However, taking into account the relevance of the website for the industry, the origin of this information is not to be doubted.
