Return To Monkey Island Announced for 2022 Release

Return To Monkey Island

The new adventure game Return to Monkey Island has been announced for release in 2022. The game is a sequel to the legendary adventure series. It’s being developed by Terrible Toybox, the studio of creator Ron Gilbert. The games were originally developed in 1990 by Dave Grossman and Tim Schafer. While the original series’ tone was more sarcastic, the latest installment will feature a more light-hearted tone.

The developer of the game, Terrible Toybox, previously worked on Thimbleweed Park and was commissioned to develop a third-person adventure game. They’ve worked on the title for more than two years, and the development has already begun.

It’s not clear if the game will be released on PC or console. It will be a spiritual successor to the classics. There is no release date set, but we can expect a release date in 2022.

Although the game is a remake of a popular game, it will still have an interesting storyline. As the original was published in 1998, Return to Monkey Island is a canonical third entry in the series.

It’s being developed by Terrible Toybox, the same company that developed Thimbleweed Park. This will be the studio’s first original adventure game. While it’s not quite a reboot, it will be a good time to get back into the world of RPGs.
