Sony just confirmed the bad news. Players cannot count on the release of The Last of Us 2 in May. This is terrible information for fans of Naughty Dog, who have been waiting for a long time for the production of the talented studio.
The darkest scenario for PlayStation fans has just come true. Sony has confirmed that it cannot provide a trouble-free premiere of The Last of Us: Part II and Marvel’s Iron Man VR, so the corporation has decided to delay the debuts of both exclusive titles prepared for PS4.
The Last of Us 2 and Marvel’s Iron Man VR delayed by the coronavirus
The Japanese manufacturer pointed out exactly where the problem lies – a global pandemic means that Sony may not deliver boxes to players, so the company decided to postpone the release of both titles.
It should be noted that currently The Last of Us 2 and Marvel’s Iron Man VR do not have release dates. Sony cannot predict when the problems will be resolved, so currently, both exclusive titles do not have their debut dates until further notice.
Update: SIE has made the difficult decision to delay the launch of The Last of Us Part II and Marvel's Iron Man VR until further notice. Logistically, the global crisis is preventing us from providing the launch experience our players deserve.

Naughty Dog released a short statement in which the studio emphasizes that the development of the game is finished, which means that the developers have finished eliminating the last bugs. Still, The Last of Us 2 will not debut on time because the team wants to deliver Ellie’s adventure to all players at the same time.
