Xiaomi has introduced the “Buds 6”, a new pair of half-in-ear wireless earbuds that focus on clear sound, comfort, and smart features. Launched in China alongside other products, these buds support Snapdragon Sound for high-quality wireless audio and offer up to “35 hours” of total battery life with the case. Priced at CNY 699 (about $99), they bring advanced options to a mid-range price.
The Buds 6 stand out with a lightweight semi-in-ear design – each bud weighs just 4.4 grams. Xiaomi used a “bionic curve” shape to make them fit better and feel comfortable for long wear. The stem is narrower, and the sound nozzle is thinner for less pressure in the ear.
For sound, Xiaomi packed a custom triple-magnet driver with a 24K gold-plated diaphragm. This setup boosts bass by 40% and highs by 30%, covering frequencies from 16Hz to 40kHz. Harman’s Golden Ear team tuned them, adding modes like Harman Audio EFX for clearer voices and Master mode for warmer bass. You can tweak EQ in the Xiaomi Earbuds app.
These buds support Snapdragon Sound with aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive for near-wired quality (up to 24-bit/48kHz at 2.1 Mbps). They have Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification and work with codecs like SBC and AAC. Other perks include spatial audio with head tracking, adaptive noise cancellation, and AI wind noise reduction (up to 12 m/s).
Battery life reaches up to 6.5 hours per charge (ANC off) or 3.5 hours (ANC on). With the case, you get up to 35 hours (ANC off) or 20 hours (ANC on). The case charges fast, though exact speeds aren’t listed yet.
Smart extras: Three-mic AI call noise reduction, independent recording (even with case closed), real-time transcription, AI summaries, translation, and support for Xiaomi Find/Apple Find My. They have IP54 dust/water resistance and dual-device connection.
Colors: Nebula Purple (reflective finish), Pearl White, Titanium Gold, Moon Shadow Black.
Sales start December 27 in China via Xiaomi’s store. Global availability isn’t confirmed, but similar models often reach other markets later.
If you want open-fit buds with strong audio and useful AI tools at a good price, the Buds 6 look promising. Check Xiaomi’s site for updates if you’re outside China.
