BIOSTAR has just announced a new motherboard: the Z690A SILVER. The Z690A SILVER comes with the support for 12th Generation Intel Core Processor. The new board is designed to be more affordable than previous models in its line. However, it does lack Wi-Fi and comes with an older Realtek ALC1220 audio codec. It does, however, have a 2.5Gbps Intel NIC. As such, it is a good choice for gaming or content creation on a budget.
The BIOSTAR Z690A SILVER comes with 17-phase power design and an Active cooling armor gear for the CPU and GPU. Its active cooling armor gear is designed to improve heat dissipation. In addition, the Z690A SILVER supports SATA RAID 0,1,5,10 and has a total of six USB 2.0 ports. There’s also a 10-speed LAN and eight-channel HD audio.
The Z690A-SILVER motherboard supports up to 4 DIMMs of high-speed DDR4 RAMs capable of overclocking numbers exceeding 5000+Mhz (O.C). Furthermore, features like PCIe M.2 4.0, USB 3.2 GEN2 TYPE-A, and C bring excellent utility for users.
The “LED ROCK ZONE- RGB SYNC” technology allows users a full range of RGB lights customizability. Using VIVID LED DJ software, users can personalize the light effects on the motherboard as well as externally connected RGB light strips that can be easily installed to the motherboard using the provided 5V and 12V headers.
The motherboard features 8 USB ports consisting of 1 x USB 3.2 (Gen2) Type-C Port, 5 x USB 3.2 (Gen2) Ports, and 2 x USB 2.0 ports for extremely versatile compatibility with any USB device. Furthermore, a single 1 x PS/2 Keyboard / Mouse Port provides extra connectivity to connect an older device to the system.
Additionally, 2 x WiFi Antenna ports that support WiFi 6 and a single LAN port powered by Realtek RTL8125B chipset are readily available for faster internet connectivity.
