Pikmin 3 Could Release on Nintendo Switch – Rumor

Pikmin 3

Nintendo Switch has had a fair share of great games released for the company’s previous console, Wii U. Well, it looks like Pikmin 3 might be joining that list sometime soon releasing on Nintendo Switch.

According to the VentureBeat website, Nintendo has some games in the works that will be released soon. One of those games is the previously reported 3D Super Mario collection, while another will be Pikmin 3 Deluxe.

A remastered version of the Wii U game of 2013 has long been speculated and now it seems that the launch is close, but Nintendo has been struggling to organize its announcement due to the pandemic and the consequent remote work. The isolated announcement of Paper Mario: The Origami King recently demonstrates this situation.

Pikmin 3 is one of the last lost gems on the Wii U that has yet to reappear on the Nintendo Switch. The titles of Wii U already ported to the new console include Mario Kart 8, New Super Mario Bros. U, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors.

Other rumors indicate that Nintendo intends to relaunch most of the 35-year catalog of Super Mario this year, remashing Switch classics such as Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy on the Switch.

Nintendo has had fantastic success over the past three years in porting Wii U titles to the console. The best-selling game on the console by a wide margin is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a Mario Kart 8 port that was released in 2014. Even the new Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe has sold over 6.5 million copies.
