The Last of Us Part 2 & Ghost of Tsushima Official Release Date Announced

The Last of Us Part 2

To kick off the new week, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the official release date of The Last of Us Part 2 and the samurai adventure of Ghost of Tsushima. We’ll tell you when the games will officially release.

The upcoming exclusive titles from Sony Interactive Entertainment are unfortunately also affected by the logistical problems caused by the outbreak of the coronavirus.

A few days ago, the company admitted that The Last of Us Part 2 will no longer be released on May 29, 2020 as planned. Instead, the current project from Naughty Dog had to be delayed again at short notice to ensure that the retail version of The Last of Us Part 2 can be released on the same day as its download counterpart. The latest rumor spread that Ellie’s new adventure will be released in June.

Rumors were confirmed by Sony Interactive Entertainment today. According to the official statement from PlayStation Blog, The Last of Us Part 2 is now scheduled for release on June 19, 2020. Unsurprisingly, this date will mean that the samurai adventure of Ghost of Tsushima from Sucker Punch, originally planned for a release on June 26, 2020, will also be pushed back a bit.

Players who are already looking forward to the title will not have to wait much longer. Instead, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that Ghost of Tsushima will be delayed to July 17, 2020, which is only a few weeks later. As part of today’s announcement, Sony Interactive also thanked the players for their patience and understanding.

“I want to personally congratulate and thank both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements, as we know it’s not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances,” Hermen Hulst, head of Worldwide Studios, SIE said.
