Titan Quest 2 is an action role-playing game inspired by Greek mythology, and the game is now launched in Early Access for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Developed by Grimlore Games and published by THQ Nordic, it’s a sequel to the original Titan Quest from 2006. The full game is planned for release in late 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Here’s everything you need to know about Titan Quest 2: Gameplay, Early Access and more.
Story
In Titan Quest 2, you play as a hero fighting Nemesis, the Goddess of Retribution. She’s messing with the Threads of Fate, punishing anyone who stands against her. Your mission is to team up with gods, battle mythical creatures, and stop Nemesis to save those she’s trapped. The story takes you across a beautiful, handcrafted world based on ancient Greece, with places like beaches, temples, and mysterious areas like the realm of the Moirai (the Fates).
Gameplay
- Exploration: The game has a big, detailed world full of secrets. You’ll visit lively towns, hidden groves with legendary monsters, and even meet gods. Items and conversations can lead to surprises or help you stop Nemesis.
- Combat: You fight classic Greek mythology creatures like centaurs, satyrs, and cyclopes. Enemies work together in groups, so you need to dodge their attacks and strike back with powerful moves. The game also lets you adjust difficulty settings using special rituals.
- Character Customization: You create your own hero by combining two “masteries” (skill sets) to match your playstyle. For example, mix different abilities to make a unique class. You can upgrade weapons and gear, like turning a common spear into a legendary item.
- Multiplayer: Play alone or team up with friends online to take on challenges together. Multiplayer is still in early development, so it might improve over time.
Key Features
- World: The game’s world is carefully designed, not randomly generated, with stunning places like caves and ruins. You can ride a divine horse named Areion to explore faster.
- Sound: The music mixes traditional Greek tunes with modern orchestral sounds, creating an epic feel.
- Early Access: The game isn’t finished yet. It has about 20 hours of content now, with four masteries, 37 active abilities, 55 passive abilities, and over 50 enemy types across three factions. Developers are listening to player feedback to improve it before the full release.
- Graphics: Built with Unreal Engine 5, the game looks better than the original, with updated visuals and smoother gameplay.
Price and Availability
- Early Access Price: $23.99 / €23.99 until August 8, 2025, then $29.99 / €29.99. The full game will cost $49.99 / €49.99 when it launches in late 2026.
